Most problems are temporary.

Many problems are temporary.

Some will go away by themselves. Some I can solve by myself. Some I can solve if I reach out for help.

Other problems are not temporary. Those we can learn to endure. Hopefully gracefully. Eventually. 🙂

The real trick is knowing which is which.

This prayer from Reinhold Niebuhr is a great reminder.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Sometimes we need help to know the difference. And sometimes we need reminded that there is a difference.

Reclaiming our energy and attention from the things we can't change and refocusing it on what we can change is a powerful way to make progress when we are feeling stuck in life.

What kind of internal dialogue is behind our fear of failure? What kind of story are we telling...

Old ways won't open new doors.

Too often I find myself trying old solutions to old problems. The trouble is when the old solutions have never really worked. Sometimes I just need a reminder that it's ok to try something new. The same thing we have always done is likely to get us the same thing we have always got. Now sometimes we just...
